Applications are now open for a Ringer to join a mixed camp on a cattle property 1.5 hours north of Port Hedland in the rich Pilbara region of Western Australia. With an immediate start on offer for the right candidate, the Ringer can expect to join a team of 5 others & a Head Stockperson to muster stock & process cattle within the yards.
While it’s ideal that the Ringer has a season behind them already, the successful candidate on this station will present with some previous exposure to the Australian agricultural industry, ideally be in their early 20’s, be satisfied with single accommodation and know that on this station, pet dogs cannot be brought along.
The Ringer should be willing to learn to ride a horse or bring those pre-existing skills to the role. Low stress stock handling is an important element of everyday work on this station and the Ringer should be willing to adopt best practices when it comes to stock work & animal welfare in general.
Our client has advised that the day rate will be by negotiation and ultimately based on experience however could be expected to fall between $190 - $240 per day. Single accommodation + all meals will be provided.

Reporting to the Station Manager and serving as the direct link between management and the station hand crew, the Head Stockperson will ultimately be aware of all that is happening on the station and essentially be responsible for the delegation of daily tasks to the station crew and become a supervisory figure to them. This cattle and dryland cropping operation has a position available for a suitably experienced hands-on leadership couple to bring adequately appropriate transferable skills to their operation and ultimately be responsible for one of the company’s properties located to the south of Westmar and north of Goondiwindi, Queensland.
Reporting to the owners, the successful candidates will be responsible for the Angus and Wagyu cattle breeding herd and dryland cropping operation over some 10,000 acres in addition to providing support for the surrounding aggregation of properties as required. Specifically, horses are utilised for cattle work in addition to motorbikes and buggies and machinery is modern with contractors attending to some seeding and harvesting work as required.
It is expected that a suitable couple would bring previous experience within a similar leadership position to this role and be quite capable of cattle management operations including mustering, cattle processing, and transporting of livestock and, although it’s not essential, applicants who have a prior association with AI & genetics will be viewed favourably. This role could accommodate two full time positions or one full time and one part-time employee providing the flexibility surrounding families with school commitments. Horses may be brought to the property for work purposes however working dogs will require paperwork presentation upon application. Pig dogs are not permitted on this property.
A very comfortable, brick, 4-bedroom home with established gardens is available to the successful couple. There is good internet and telephone reception. AusAG Rural has the pleasure of recruiting a Station Couple for our clients who own a cattle property within 30 kilometres from the Central Queensland township of Rolleston. Rolleston is a thriving rural community located 45 minutes southeast of Springsure on the Dawson Highway, 1.45 hours north of Injune on the Carnarvon Highway and 3 hours southwest of Rockhampton – the beef capital of Australia! The property is located on the banks of the Comet River and the district is renowned for its thriving pastoral industry, supplying locals with a range of goods and services.
Positions now exist for a Station Hand and Domestic / Gardener to join this family-owned cattle enterprise. The successful candidates within both roles will report to the Station Manager on site. Positions descriptions are following:
Station Hand:
The Station Hand will be involved with mustering and yard work as well as general property maintenance and machinery operating as required. Ideally, prior experience working cattle and the ability to ride a motorbike and / or horse will be viewed favourably as will those applicants with advanced yard work experience. Fencing and other general property maintenance will be required.
Domestic / Gardener:
The Domestic / Gardener’s duties will include the maintenance and upkeep of the sprawling country homestead gardens by way of mowing, edging, weeding and tree trimming. General cleaning will be required within the main homestead and staff quarters in addition to a minimal amount of cooking for other staff members from time to time. Ideally the successful candidate will present with some experience within a similar position and have a desire to live and work on a rural property.
The successful Station Couple will enjoy living and working on the picturesque station to the southwest of Rolleston. Couple accommodation is a private, two-bedroom donga building that is suitable for a couple only – it will not fit a family. Animals are strictly by negotiation and should be disclosed upon interview.

The Role:

To be successful within this position, you will demonstrate your prior experiences working within the Australian beef sector, ideally at an experienced level. You will have the ability to essentially ‘hit the ground running’ in terms of cattle movements, yard work and infrastructure maintenance. Essentially, you will understand that this position is located in a remote Australian location, and you must realise this is a long-term commitment.
